Counter Trades

Overview

Counter Trade on SuperX allows you to profit from consistently underperforming traders by automatically taking the opposite side of their trades. If they go long, you go short. If they go short, you go long — all in real time.

The Counter Trader category ranks wallets with negative ROE, making it easy to spot high-signal opportunities where historical data suggests their trades are likely to lose.

Where to Find Counter Traders

You can browse the Counter Trade category only from the SuperX Web Dashboard, but you can start a counter trade from both the web and the Telegram bot.

On Web:

  1. From the navigation bar, open the Hyperliquid Trader Screener.

  2. Select Counter Trade from the category tabs.

  3. Browse the ranked list and pick a trader to counter.

On Telegram:

  1. Select Copy Trade → New.

  2. Toggle Counter Mode on.

How to Set Up Counter Trades

Counter Trade can be set up on:

Understanding the Counter Trade List

In the Counter Trade tab, you’ll see traders ranked by worst performance (most negative ROE). The table displays:

Filter
Description

Trader Address

The wallet ID of the trader you can counter.

Trader Age

How long this wallet has been active in Hyperliquid trading.

Profit Factor

Ratio of gross profit to gross loss — lower numbers can signal better counter-trade candidates.

All-Time PnL

Total net losses of the trader (negative values are desirable for counter-trading).

ROE (7, 30, 90 days)

Return on Equity over each period — a more negative value indicates a higher potential counter-trade value.

Max Drawdown

Largest peak-to-trough equity drop — high numbers indicate large losses.

Min Balance to Copytrade

Minimum balance you need to start counter-trading this wallet.

Win Rate

The percentage of trades that closed in profit, giving you an idea of the vault’s accuracy and success rate - lower numbers indicate large losses.

Avg Trades per Day

The average number of trades the trader executes each day — useful for assessing activity level and trade frequency.

Direction Bias

Indicates whether the vault tends to take long or short positions more frequently.

Last Trade

The timestamp or date of the vault’s most recent trade, showing how active the strategy currently is.

Avg. Hold Time

The average duration the vault holds a position before closing it, helping you gauge whether it’s a scalping, swing, or position-based strategy.

How Counter Trades Work

Once you select a trader to counter:

  1. Their long = your short

  2. Their short = your long

  3. Orders are mirrored instantly when they execute.

You can still set:

  • Max Margin – Cap the maximum funds used per trade.

  • Take-Profit – Automatically secure gains when the price moves in your favor.

  • Stop-Loss – Limit potential losses if the trade moves against you.

Why Use Counter Trades?

Counter trading leverages the consistency of losing traders. If someone’s historical performance is reliably negative, you can turn their bad calls into profitable ones.

With SuperX, this adds to your alpha-finding toolkit:

  1. Copying good traders

  2. Copying good vaults

  3. Counter trading bad traders

  4. Counter trading bad vaults
